DRUNK DRIVING |
If you or a loved one has been arrested for DUI-Drunk Driving, DWI, Driving Under the Influence or another motor vehicle offense, it is essential to have competent DUI-Drunk Driving criminal defense representation to protect your rights.
Punishment in a drunk driving case depends on such things as the number of times you have been arrested for the offense, how much time has passed between offenses, the reading of the intoximeter, whether there was an accident, whether the officer had cause to stop, whether you are a minor, or how poorly the officer wrote the report. These are just a few of the factors that influence a lawyer's handling of your case. |

PERSONAL INJURY |
I am dedicated to improving the lives and obtaining justice for personal injury victims. With over 27 years of legal experience, I represent my clients with compassion and understanding, while aggressively fighting for your rights.
We realize that sustaining a personal injury can be devastating and affect all aspects of our client’s life. We understand the physical, financial and emotional stress that an injury or accident can place on you and your loved ones. I can help you put lives back together, with just financial compensation.
A few of the cases that I have handles are:
Suit against owner of a motor vehicle for allowing a child to sit in the drivers seat with keys in the ignition. In this case the owner did not have enough insurance coverage to pay this injury claim. We settled for additional money with my client's own underinsured insurance carrier.
Suit against landowner for ice and snow accumulation on some stairs. My client slipped, fell and was injured.
Suit against manufacturer of lighter fluid where 12 year old received a burn injury when lighter fluid ignited.
Suit against employer where employee was fired because he made a workers compensation claim. |

DIVORCE |
| Contested divorce: involves an adversarial dissolution of your marriage. The parties rely on the court to decide the issues in controversy. These cases may take over a year to conclude and often require expert witnesses. Most often, custody alimony or property division issues are involved.
In an uncontested divorce: couples generally agree on the terms of their marital dissolution from the onset. We charge a flat fee for our services, if possible, reducing costs. Cases are usually concluded within a few months, saving time. Finally, the parties, not the court, control the case outcome.
Some thoughts on divorce:
Custody of minor children, even girls may go to the father where the facts show it would be in the children's best interests and provide the children with the active and consistent involvement of both parents comensurate with their abilities and interests.
Alimony or property division are awarded based on length of marriage, cause of divorce, age, health station, occupation, amount and sources of income, vocational skills, employability, estate, needs of each spouse, division of assets and desireability of custodial parent to work. |

CONTRACTS |
| I can draft or review contracts. Written contracts, even among those you trust, are important because it avoids confusion and misunderstanding between parties. For example, I pursued a lawsuit on behalf of an ex-wife against the life insurance company of the deceased ex-husband because my client was still named as the benficiary five years after the divorce. |

SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY BENEFITS |
If you have a reasonably decent work history and become totally disabled for all types of work, you may be entitled to Social Security Disability. You should apply at your nearest Social Security Office. If you are denied, you should call this office. |
| |
WORKERS COMPENSATION DEFENSE |
I represent injured employees in a wide variety of workers’ compensation cases. I practice before the Office of Workers’ Compensation (OWC) and appeals courts as well as mediations, negotiations, and all types of settlements, structured and lump sum.
If you are injured where you work you are entitled to the lost income due to the injury, including temporary, total disability, temporary partial disability and permanent partial disability at times disfigurement payment of medical bills and death benefits, funeral expense and other benefits. Notice of injury to your employer must be filed in writing within one year. |
